Under the BC Child Care Licensing Regulation (Schedule E), the mandatory staff-to-child ratio for Infant/Toddler care (under 36 months) is 1:4 with a maximum group size of 12. For Group Child Care (30 months to 5 years), the ratio is 1:8 with a maximum group size of 25. At least one educator on duty must hold an active Infant and Toddler Educator (ITE) or Lead ECE credential.
